George J. Petrovich, Jr. and Sharon E. Giraud have been in partnership in the practice of law since 1991.
GEORGE J. PETROVICH, JR.
George was born in Galveston, Texas and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1956 from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He was employed as an industrial chemist at General Dynamics Corporation while attending night classes at Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1961. George has been licensed to practice in all Texas courts since 1961, and has also been admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. George was certified as a Family Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1998.
George was a founding Director and Past President of Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, Past Chair of the Tarrant County Bar Association Alternate Dispute Resolution Section, and Past Council Member of the State Bar Committee for Continuing Profession Competence. George was appointed Public Member of the Texas House Select Interim Study Committee for the Worker's Compensation program. George is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, and the College of the State Bar of Texas. Texas Top Attorney Award 2003. The Fort Worth City Council has recently appointed George to serve on the Board of Adjustment (Commercial Section).
SHARON E. GIRAUD
Sharon was born in Eagle Lake, Texas, and after graduating from Southwest High School in Fort Worth, attended Texas Tech University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina in 1974 and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977. After returning to Texas, Sharon was licensed to practice law in all Texas courts in 1977 and has been admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Texas since 1979. Sharon is an approved attorney closer for Commonwealth Land Title Company. Sharon was certified as a Family Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1996.
Sharon has served as past Vice-President and Treasurer of the Women's Bar of Tarrant County, and Treasurer of the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers. Presently she is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Women's Bar, Tarrant County Bankruptcy Bar, the Tarrant County Family Law Bar, and the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists.
Sharon was named the "Attorney ad Litem of the Year" by Child Advocates of Tarrant County (CASA) for her advocacy on the part of children, and has also been recognized for her assistance in training volunteer child advocates.
